This was from one of my first shows I shot and since @frabbits have a new album coming out in a few weeks I thought I’d post it as a flashback.

Frightened Rabbit was the first band I shot that I was actually a pretty big fan of so the photos from this show have always meant a bit to me even if my Live Photos were a bit rough around the edges back then.
Scott Hutchison’s lyrics are big reason why I’m into them. He is willing to just expose himself in ways other lyricists won’t. There is an honesty and vulnerability in the way he talks about love, life, death, insecurity, and any other topic that I appreciate. I always get the impression that he sings about these things not because he even wants to but he has to do it. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know, but it feels that way.

I guess I’m posting this bc I just got my tickets in the mail to their show in DC in May and while I’m not planning to cover it as music photographer like I did last time I’m not any less excited to see it.
